SRNS is essential to deterrence of foreign threats by upholding the nation’s nuclear defense and security. The Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility and Savannah River Tritium Enterprise help to complete the NNSA’s core missions, ensuring the readiness and sustainability of the nation’s nuclear defense systems for decades to come.

SRNS’ Solid Waste Management is responsible for the disposition of Savannah River Site’s solid wastes, which include sanitary, construction and demolition (C&D), hazardous, low-level radioactive and transuranic wastes.
