COVID-19

vaccine event

On Saturday, February 20, SRNS partnered
with Rural Health Services, Inc. to conduct
an SRS employee COVID-19 vaccine event
in the A Area parking lot at SRS. The event
focused on SRS federal and contractor
employees and their spouses who are
65 years of age or older, which is the
target population that the South Carolina
Department of Health and Environmental
Control is currently working to vaccinate
in Phase 1A. The partnership allowed SRS
employees to receive the vaccine, while
supporting the state’s efforts to vaccinate
the most vulnerable members of the public.
The event resulted in the vaccination
of approximately 250 employees and
spouses with the initial dose of the Moderna
COVID-19 vaccine. Rural Health has agreed
to return to SRS on March 20 to provide
the second dose of the vaccine. Employees
were congratulated by members of the
senior leadership team with a doughnut and
a badge that applauded their efforts in doing
their part to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.
